Marcos declares 2027 as PH Institute for Dev’t Studies Jubilee Year

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared 2027 as the Philippine Institute for Development Studies Golden Jubilee Year.

This was according to Proclamation 1448 signed by Marcos on September 18.

The issuance recognizes the contribution of PIDS in the past 50 years to evidence-based policymaking, socioeconomic planning, policy evaluation, and research dissemination.

The President directed all national government agencies, including government-owned or -controlled corporations and state universities and colleges to support the observance of the PIDS Golden Jubilee.

PIDS will celebrate its 50th anniversary on September 26, 2027. It was created by Presidential Decree 1201 as a non-stock, non-profit state corporation.

“Since its establishment, the PIDS has served as a government research institution providing policy-oriented research and analysis on economic, social, and development issues, thereby contributing to evidence-based policymaking and supporting the formulation and assessment of national development policies and programs,” Proclamation 1448 said.
