Marcos bats for more public-private sector partnership to boost PH’s robotics manufacturing

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday said the government is boosting its collaboration with the private sector so that robotics manufacturing in the country can eventually be at par with international companies.

He made the remarks after visiting the Nuvali Steel Processing Center Inc. at the Laguna Technopark Annex in Biñan City, Laguna.

He inspected the Department of Science and Technology program in aligning the company with Industry 4.0 through the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program.

The facility is one of the country’s state-of-the-art robotics manufacturing facility.

“It is government and private sector working hand in hand to help private sector to the state-of-the-art so that we can compete on an international level,” the President said.

He went on: “Hindi na tayo kailangang mag-import ng kung anu-anong piyesa. Karamihan ng piyesa, ng motorsiklo, dito na manggagaling. And therefore, the value added stays here. The supply chain is in the Philippines.”

In a Facebook post, Marcos said: “Sa tulong ng DOST, gumagamit na ang Nuvali Steel ng state-of-the-art robotics upang gumawa ng mga piyesang pasok sa international standards. Kapag dito ginagawa ang produkto, dito rin nananatili ang halaga, lumalakas ang ating supply chain at mas maraming trabaho ang nalilikha para sa mga Pilipino.”
