Marcos announces 2027 holidays

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared 18 days as official regular holidays and special non-working days for 2027, Malacañang said on Friday.

These are contained in Proclamation 1427 signed on September 8.

The regular holidays for 2027 are:

New Year’s Day – January 1 (Friday)
Maundy Thursday – March 25
Good Friday – March 26
Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Friday)
Labor Day – May 1 (Saturday)
Independence Day – June 12 (Saturday)
National Heroes’ Day – August 30 (Last Monday of August)
Bonifacio Day – November 30
Christmas Day – December 25 (Saturday)
Rizal Day – December 30 (Thursday)

The special non-working days are:

Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Saturday)
All Saints Day – November 1 Monday)
Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary – December 8 (Wednesday)
Last day of the year – December 31 (Friday)

Additional special non-working days are:

Chinese New Year – February 6 (Saturday)
Black Saturday – March 27
All Souls Day – November 2 (Tuesday)
Christmas Eve – December 24 (Friday)

The EDSA People Revolution Anniversary on Februarg 25, Thursday, is a special working day.

The Palace said the proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha shall be issued after the approximate dates of the slamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos shall recommend to the Office of the President the actual dates on which these holidays shal respectively fall.
