Manila court orders Sandra Cam’s arrest, others for murder

The Manila regional trial court has ordered the arrest of feisty Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra M. Cam and several others, including her son, in connection with the killing of Batuan, Masbate vice mayor Charlie Yuson III.

In an order, Branch 42 Judge Dinnah C. Aguila-Topacio said, “The Court after examining the information, the Resolution of Department of Justice Panel of Prosecutors, the complaint-affidavit and other supporting documents thereto, finds probable cause to issue a warrant of arrest..”

No bail was recommended for their temporary liberty.

Apart from Cam and son Marco Martin, likewise ordered arrested were her co-respondents, namely: Nelson R. Cambaya, Junel R. Gomez, Bradford F. Solis, Juanito B. De Luna, and Rigor M. dela Cruz.

Recently, the Department of Justice has found probable cause to file murder and frustrated murder charges against Cam and others.

“Prosecutors Josie Dugay and Eugene Yusi issued resolution dated 22 February 2021, indicting Sandra Cam, Marco Martin Cam, Nelson R. Cambaya, Junel Gomez @Bunso, Bradford Solis, Juanito B. De Luna, and Rigor M. Dela Cruz for Murder for the killing of Charlie D. Yuson III and Frustrated Murder for the wounding of Alberto Y. Alforte IV, ” the Office of the Prosecutor General said in a message sent to reporters Friday.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed a complaint for murder and frustrated murder against Cam and several others before the DOJ.

But Cam has vehemently denied the allegations linking her to the killing.

Yuson was shot dead while having breakfast with Wilfredo Pineda and Alberto Alforte in Sampaloc, Manila on Oct. 10, 2019.

Pineda and Alforte were wounded in the attack.

Yuson’s wife, Lalaine, accused Cam of masterminding his death over politics.
