Mali yan! Mel Sta. Maria explains why CHED can’t define academic freedom
FEU Law Dean Mel Sta. Maria explained that academic freedom cannot be defined by CHED.
The abogado emphasized that it’s wrong to apply it to UP or any other academic institutions in the country.

Sta. Maria noted that allowing its definition will only trigger indoctrination brought about by the syllabus and outline they’ll provide. The abogado said that the law grants absolute right for schools to hire who they want to teach, what they will teach, and how it will be taught.
He calls for a stop over this attempt to straightjacket education.
