Leonen advises examinees ‘wag mag-panic’ as Bar exams kick off
The first day of the 2018 Bar examinations, arguably the toughest licensure test in the country, kicked off this Sunday at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen paid the examinees a visit and advised them: ‘wag mag-panic, take the exam one at time.’
First day was political and international law and will be followed by labor law and social legislation later in the afternoon.
Bar operations from different schools went on smoothly with most of them prepared bags of food, drinks and good luck messages for the examinees.
Some brought along religious icons, placards and balloons, to give the examinees the needed moral boost.
Also, more than 400 policemen were deployed by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to secure the Bar exam.
In 2010, a hand grenade was lobbed at the De La Salle University on Taft Avenue, Manila, which was the venue then of the Bar exam.
The incident left scores of examinees and non-examinees injured.
