Lacierda cites 2 nation models to combat COVID-19
The Philippines government has two roads to consider in fighting COVID-19, noted abogado Edwin Lacierda.
But while none of the two has proven to be greater, both showed positive results in slowing down death rates and mitigating the spread of the virus.
Lacierda cites the China and Singapore/Taiwan models as two strategies to combat the disease.
He said the China model employed the full weight of authoritarianism, while the Singapore/Taiwan model managed to contain COVID-19 in a liberal democracy.
“Our fatal attraction somehow persists. Structure follows strategy,” he said.
