Want some fishball?

Senator Kiko Pangilinan arrived early for a commitment in the University of the Philippines-Diliman so he made a quick detour to a fishball kiosk near the UP Chapel. While he enjoyed his fishball order, he can’t help recalling the time when it was illegal for small vendors to put up shop in the university campus. As student regent in 1987, Pangilinan worked hard for the UP administration to grant the vendors permission to sell. UP Manininda was founded and up to this day, vendors don’t have to hide anymore to earn a living inside the campus. They can do so freely while students also enjoy their services.

Of course, Pangilinan had to take a selfie with Manang Vicky, the fishball vendor who he bought his snack from.

Mabuhay ang UP Manininda!
