Justice del Castillo: All new lawyers are on equal footing
Supreme Court Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo said that all new lawyers are on equal footing and have every opportunity to be successful in their own endeavor.
“Without diminishing the laudable performance of our Bar topnotchers who deserve the accolades, may I remind our new attorneys that the Bar exams would not measure your success as a lawyer nor would they measure your worth as a person. It no longer matters from what law school you graduated or what your Bar grade is….You are all attorneys, all counselors at law and so would be treated on equal footing,” he said.
Del Castillo, the 2018 Bar examinations chairperson, said this in his message during the new lawyers’ oathtaking at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City Thursday.
At the same time, del Castillo advised new lawyers to be mode resilient when things get tough with the love for country the paramount concern.
“You have the means to use with what you are blessed with to contribute to the welfare of society. Bar passers, don’t fail your country. Don’t fail your Filipino people,” he said.
