International observers in town for 2026 BARMM parliamentary elections

International election observers are in Mindanao to monitor the conduct of the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) engaging one of the observers from the Republic of Türkiye.

Members of the IBP national leadership met with the Turkish election observer as part of the organization’s election-related activities by exchanging observations on conditions on the ground as voting got underway.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the IBP and the international observer to discuss election-day developments and the importance of transparency, electoral integrity and adherence to the rule of law.

The IBP said its engagement with local and international stakeholders forms part of its efforts to support a peaceful, orderly, credible and lawful electoral process in the BARMM.

The IBP national officials present included National President and 27th Board of Governors Chairman Atty. Allan G. Panolong, Executive Vice President and Bicolandia Governor Atty. Randall C. Tabayoyong, National Executive Director Atty. Patrick M. Velez, and National Director for Legal Aid Atty. Pitero M. Reig.

Also present were Greater Manila Governor Atty. Ma. Ellen Go Francisco, Southern Luzon Governor Atty. Thaddeus E. Venturanza, Western Visayas Governor Atty. Susanne C. Lacson, Eastern Mindanao Governor Atty. Roxan G. Apostol, National Director for Chapter Affairs and IBP-NCLA Overall Deputy Director Atty. Manuel Joseph B. Ibanez III, and Assistant National Secretary Atty. Philip Vales.#
