Inday Sara hits Robredo: Hands off Davao City’s COVID response

Is this an ensuing word war between the ladies who will likely vie for the 2022 presidency?

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio lashed out at fellow abogado Vice President Leni Robredo after the latter gave unsolicited advice about how Davao City should handle the local surge in COVID-19 infections.

Robredo said the city should pick up some pointers from Cebu City on how to control the recent spike in cases.

“The Vice President should refrain from giving advice if she knows nothing about what is happening on the ground,” the early presidential poll leader said in a statement, a rare swipe at her potential nemesis next year. “This has been the hallmark of her term as VP, where she puts forth comments on matters and affairs she lacks understanding and knowledge on and does not offer anything helpful to solve a problem.”

The VP should avoid involving the Covid-19 surge in Davao City in her attempt at politicking. There will be a proper time to attack my performance as an LCE in this pandemic if she dares to run for President,” she added.
