IBP condemns gruesome skinning, slay of Cebu lass
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu chapter on Wednesday issued a statement condemning violence against women and children specifically the gruesome death of a pretty high school student in Barangay Bankal whose face was skinned to the bone.
“The brutal killing of the teenage girl in Lapu-Lapu is an act of pure evil and we call upon our authorities to catch the monster/s responsible. We also call upon witnesses to come out and speak for the early resolution of this dastardly act.
“We as a society must at all times be vigilant against all dangers to our children, the Chapter for its part if given the chance will provide legal service to aid in the prosecution of the culprits to this vicious crime when caught,” the IBP said in a statement.
Christine Silawan, 16, was found lifeless on a vacant lot in Barangay Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City on Monday. Her face was skinned to the bone.
