How to be an Abogado: Chief Justice responds to young lawyer aspirant
Newly-appointed Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo has responded to inquiring Grade school student and aspiring lawyer, Hans Kasilag.
The abogado listed top tips to guide him in his aspiration to be part of the legal profession.

Gesmundo reminded the young student that being a lawyer is a social responsibility than a means to make money or power. The abogado also said that attitude is as important as aptitude to become a successful lawyer in the Philippines, and that preparations to have the right mindset can start as early as now.
He also emphasized the important of having humility, kindness, integrity, and candor especially in the law profession where conflict is commonplace. Finally, the abogado stated that it is important to master calculated discernment and delayed judgement.
He reminded him that he must always think of society first before the prestige that comes with it.
