Hilbay says ICC can use Duterte’s admission on killings

For former solicitor general Pilo Hilbay, President Rodrigo Duterte had already made a public admission that he’s responsible for the killings made in the context of the drug war.

Hilbay said this admission could be used by the International Criminal Court against Duterte.

“Dear @IntlCrimCourt Here’s an official public statement of the Philippine President, assuming full responsibility for the killings under your examination,” said the abogado.

Hilbay was reacting to the President’s statement that the killings made by police “were on him.”

“For all of the killings that are done in the course of their duties by the police and the military – akin ‘yan. I’ll answer for it. I assume full legal responsibility,” the President had said.
