Harry Roque reacts to Romualdez jail transfer: ‘Papunta na tayo sa exciting part’

Former Duterte spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque said former Speaker Martin Romualdez may have made a “big mistake” if he thought doctors at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) could be influenced to keep him confined there.

Roque issued the statement after the Sandiganbayan ordered Romualdez’s transfer to the New Quezon City Jail in Barangay Payatas.

Associate Justice Karl Miranda announced the court order following the testimony of PGH Director Gerardo Legaspi, who told the court that Romualdez could be discharged at any time because he was medically stable.

“Maghihimas na ng rehas si Speaker Romualdez. Akala ng mga Bangag madidiktahan nila ang mga doktor sa PGH. Malaking pagkakamali. Ano kayang script ang isusulat nila?” Roque said.

“Tapos na ang drama. Ilipat na si Tambaloslos sa city jail sa Payatas. NOW NA!!!” he added.

The Sandiganbayan order came after the court heard Legaspi’s assessment of Romualdez’s medical condition, clearing the way for his transfer to the city jail.
