Grafbusters wanted: Ombudsman hiring 61 lawyers

The Office of the Ombudsman, the country’s primary anti-graft and corruption agency, has announced that it is looking for 61 lawyers to fill positions across the office.

In a social media post, the office said it needs “dynamic, hardworking, and dedicated lawyers who are ready to put their skills to work in the service of the Filipino people.”

Of the 61 positions, 19 are in the Ombudsman Central Office; 18 in the Office of the Special Prosecutor; six each in the Office of the Ombudsman for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao; and six in the Ombudsman for Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices.

“Join an institution committed to integrity, accountability, and good governance, while building a meaningful career in public service,” it said.

The deadline for applications is on September 23, 2026.

Among the cases and complaints the Office of the Ombudsman is currently handling are those related to the flood control corruption controversy.

35 cases have been filed in court and 166 are under preliminary investigation.

The office is also conducting at least 107 lifestyle checks.
