Good move! Netizens react to Ted Te’s resignation
Newly appointment Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo-De Castro accepted on Monday the irrevocable resignation of Supreme Court spokesperson Theodore Te.
Leonardo-De Castro appointed abogado Ma. Victoria Gleoresty Guerra, deputy chief of the Supreme Court Public Information Office, as Te’s replacement when he stepped down on Sept. 7.
Te’s colleagues and other netizens are in favor of Te’s resignation, as he called him one of the few good men who could stand up to threats in the rule of law.
They believe that Te could be a strong voice of opposition.
“I respectfully believe that I would be of greater value to the judiciary and the Court in the academic world at this time.”

In a rare occasion in May 2018, when Sereno was ousted, Te tweeted "I dissent!" He joined the opinion of many prominent legal groups that quo warranto is an unconstitutional way to oust a chief justice. https://t.co/lsvmKsH762

Wow! This is good news… You have now re-acquired your freedom of speech… But you have been very decent and dignified spokesperson of the SC! https://t.co/9r8lzwYUrk

I hope he will take a more vocal stand now that he can do away with the policy of dignified silence and say more than "I dissent!" Spokesman Ted Te resigns from Supreme Court https://t.co/ufM0l9FdAZ via @rapplerdotcom
