Gaming firm denounces lawyer’s killing
A gaming technology firm condemned the killing of one of its lawyers in front of the Dagupan City Justice Hall last Friday.
A resident of the nearby town of Manaoag, Atty. Val Crisostomo was standing in front of the justice hall after attending a court hearing when an unknown assailant shot him at 9:15 a.m.
Crisostomo was rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival. The suspect immediately fled the crime scene.
Bernard Vitriolo, Globaltech’s Legal team head, bared that Crisostomo was one of their lawyers pursuing the filing of charges against National Bureau of Investigation agents who conducted illegal raids or arrests on their personnel for Peryahan ng Bayan (PnB) games in Pangasinan.
“We condemn in the strongest terms this cold-blooded murder in broad daylight of our lawyer who was merely doing his job. The attack was not just on our lawyer and our company, but also on the country’s justice system as it seemed to send a message that our enemies, the enemies of Peryahan ng Bayan, do not subject themselves to the laws of men, and the Rule of Law,” Vitriolo said in a statement.
