From sampal to crocodile tears: De Lima shames Duterte’s lackluster COVID response
Senator Leila de Lima taunted President Rodrigo Duterte anew as she exposed Malacañang’s failure to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.
She toyed around Duterte’s seemingly compassionate public remarks to show how the President is just so clueless about the pandemic.
It’s also an accountability check of sorts as she quoted Duterte’s old vow: “I promise you, by the grace of God, I hope by December 2020, we would be back to normal. Meron akong bakuna.”
Fast forward to April 2021 and barely a million Filipinos have been vaccinated. As for the back up plan, it’s Duterte supposedly wanting to wail in public but got no tears left to do it.
How will Duterte respond?
