The Abante-Bilyonaryo Group is making its presence felt across the Philippine news market, with three of its brands showing up in the Reuters Institute’s 2026 survey of news outlets regularly used by Filipinos.
From Bilyonaryo’s business and digital audience to BNC’s television presence and Abante’s mass-market Filipino readership, the group now has separately recognized brands across distinct corners of the news market.
Bilyonaryo emerged as the group’s strongest digital property, with 15% of respondents saying they used the brand for online news in the previous week. That put it just one percentage point behind the Manila Bulletin at 16%.
It ranked ahead of PEP.ph and Yahoo News, both at 14%; Manila Times at 10%; BBC News and DZRH online at 9%; and SunStar at 8%.
The country’s two dominant broadcast groups remained well ahead online. GMA News Online led with 49%, followed by ABS-CBN News Online at 43%.
Still, Bilyonaryo’s showing puts the relatively young digital brand alongside news organizations that have been household names for decades.
BNC, meanwhile, registered 8% weekly reach in Reuters’ offline news category, ahead of DZRH News at 7% and Radyo Pilipinas at 6%. GMA’s Super Radyo dzBB registered 10%.
Abante/Abante Tonight was listed at 6%, giving the group another established brand at the mass-market end of the news business.
GMA remained the clear leader in offline news with 48% weekly reach, followed by ABS-CBN at 41%, Philippine Daily Inquirer and TV5 at 22% each, and Manila Bulletin and The Philippine Star at 18% each.
The numbers are measures of weekly brand use, not television ratings, website traffic or advertising market share. Respondents could also select more than one brand, meaning the Bilyonaryo, BNC and Abante figures cannot be added to produce a combined AB Group reach.
What the survey does show is the breadth of the group’s portfolio.
Bilyonaryo gives it a growing position in digital and business news, BNC puts it on television, while Abante and Abante Tonight provide an established mass-market Filipino franchise.
From alta to masa, the AB Group now has three distinct brands competing for Filipino news audiences across digital, broadcast and print.
