Frat brods condemn killing of Bukidnon lawyer

The fraternity brothers of Atty. Winston Intong, who was shot dead by a gunman in broad daylight in Malaybaya City, Bukidnon, condemned the brazen act.

In a statement, the Fratenitas Scintilla Legis expressed condolences to his family and demanded justice for the killing of yet another abogado under the reign of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Intong graduated with a law degree from Xavier University in 1989.

“Atty. Winston was a former PAO Lawyer and the 55th lawyer to be killed in the Philippines since July 2016. FSL decries these merciless and brutal killings of lawyers, prosecutors, judges, and justices whom we consider sentinels of justice in our country,” the group said.

“The sharp increase and alarming regularity of these events are not only attacks on the personal safety and security of individuals but also a blatant mockery to our justice system. The Fraternity calls upon all concerned agencies of the government to immediately address this case and see to it that all perpetrators be brought to justice,” it added.
