Fake news, nonsense, lies, says Palace of Sara Duterte’s claims vs Marcos admin

Malacanang on Monday dismissed Vice President Sara Duterte’s claims that the Marcos administration is out to bring her down as fake news, nonsense, and mere lies.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro made the remarks when asked to comment on Duterte’s response to allegations of payoffs that she received from a security officer of ex-Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco.

“Ito po mismo ay mensahe ng Pangulo patungkol sa komento na ‘yan ng Vice Presidente. Ang sabi po niya, ‘yan po ay nonsense, fake news, mahihilig magsinungaling, mga buwaon,” she said in a press briefing.

Castro went on: “Lahat naman kasi ng pag-aakusa ng Bise Presidente sa Pangulo… Alam naman natin na walang basehan kaya mismo ang pangulo nagsasabing nonsense ang kanyang or kanilang sinasabi.”

Marcos was asked the same question earlier in the day and just laughed off the allegation that he wanted to stop the 2028 polls from happening.

“Hindi pwedeng isabaliwala na lang lahat ng kasinungalingan ito na namumutawi sa isang obstructionist, sa isang destabilizer,” Castro said, adding that the public should not easily believe even what government officials say, without any basis or evidence.
