Exposed! Karen Jimeno gives free legal advice on social media callout culture
Atty. Karen Jimeno maybe miles away but this does not stop her from giving free legal advice. The abogada recently inquired on an inquiry about the legality of posting private conversations on social media.
Hi @noy_0715 walang kaso if it’s meant to warn the public in good faith. May risk of Libel if the post is intended to shame or derogate the person. You should report the person to authorities if he/she is a risk to other people. https://t.co/iWPGIoSayJ

Jimeno replied amicably and noted that it is not illegal. The abogada even encouraged it if it is meant to warn the public about danger or a wrongdoing of another person.
However, the abogada believes that there is still libel exposure for the outing party especially if it is meant to be “derogatory” or shameful. She wrote how it is not cool to take matters into your own hands and added, “You should report the person to authorities if he/she is a risk to other people.”
Wag trigger happy sa social media!
