DPWH Region XI submits 10 boxes of documents to NBI probe

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region XI has submitted 10 boxes of documents to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in connection with its probe into alleged irregularities in flood control projects in Davao City.

DPWH Davao Regional Director Juby Cordon also appeared at the NBI on Thursday after the bureau served her a subpoena as part of its investigation.

The documents submitted to the NBI are among those sought by investigators in connection with the probe into 100 flood control projects in Davao City’s 1st District, where the bureau earlier flagged 47 projects.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag previously said the 47 projects had a combined value of about P1.9 billion and were reportedly awarded to a single contractor.

The NBI is investigating alleged irregularities, including suspected ghost and substandard flood control projects.

The bureau earlier said it would subpoena 51 individuals linked to three construction companies involved in the projects, including Genesis88 Construction.#
