Don’t text while working: Bersamin eyes banning cellphone use during office hours
Newly-appointed Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin on Monday vowed to implement sweeping reforms in the judiciary, including the strict implementation of ban on mobile phone use among court personnel during office hours.
“Iwasan ang paggamit ng cellphones habang nasa trabaho. Nakakahiya, hindi tayo mabubuhay ng cellphone. Gusto kung ibalik ang mga telephone at kumpiskahin ang mga cellphone. Maliit na bagay yan pero dun tayo magsisimula, pakiusap lamang sa inyo,” he told Supreme Court personnel during his first flag-raising ceremony.
Bersamin continued that he will meet judges, officials of the Philippine Judicial Academy (PJA), members of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), employees’ associations and other officers of the judiciary to discuss other reform matters.
