DOLE: P60 daily wage increase for Metro Manila minimum wage earners takes effect

The P60 daily wage increase for minimum wage earners takes effect today, September 26, the Department of Labor and Employment announced.

The DOLE directed all employers to comply with the provisions of its Wage Order NCR-28, which increases the minimum wage for non-agricultural workers from P695 to P755 and for agricultural workers from P658 to P718.

The increase applies to all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation or status and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.

The DOLE issued Wage Order NCR-28 after the Pasig Regional Trial Court issued a temporary restraining order and writ of preliminary injunction against Wage Order No. NCR-27 that orders an P85 daily minimum wage hike in Metro Manila.
