DOJ to place Bobby Ongpin’s son on Immigration lookout, travel ban eyed
The Department of Justice said it will place bilyonaryo Bobby Ongpin’s son under an Immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) as he faces drug charges and is involved in the probe on the death of young artist Bree Jonson.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said he received the request from Jonson’s mother Salome to look after Julian Ongpin, 29, if ever he attempts to flee the Philippines.
“Considering that charges for violation of the dangerous drugs law have been filed against Julian Ongpin, the DOJ will issue an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against Mr. Ongpin,” the abogado said.
“The DOJ may further consider asking the court for the issuance of a preliminary hold-departure order depending on the progress of the preliminary investigation,” he added.
Ongpin faces two counts of drug charges but has been set free by La Union police.
