DOJ takes ‘wait and see’ stance on Cebu skinning case
The Department of Justice (DoJ) has taken a “wait and see” response on whether the National Bureau of Investigation – an attached agency – assist the police in investigating the gruesome murder of a teenage girl whose face was skinned to the bone in Lapulapu City.
“We’ll let the local police take the lead. If they have difficulties (solving the case) I’ll ask the NBI to come in,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra bared.
Police identified the victim as Christine Lee Silawan, of Barangay Mactan. She was found lifeless in Barangay Bangkal, naked from the waist down, her face skinned, and with multiple stab wounds all over her body.
