The Department of Justice (DOJ) has identified six strategic priorities as it begins crafting its Strategic Plan 2027–2033 to strengthen access to justice, public trust, institutional capacity and service delivery.
The priorities, or proposed “Big Bold Moves,” are People-Centered Justice, Public Trust, Strategic Partnerships, Capability and Culture, Institutional Foundations, and Future-Ready Systems.
The priorities were identified during a two-day strategic planning workshop held Sept. 15–16 in Clark, Pampanga, attended by DOJ Secretary Fredderick A. Vida, senior officials, heads of offices and attached agencies, and representatives of the European Union’s Governance in Justice (EU-GOJUST) Programme.
The workshop also developed initial six-year road maps, performance commitments and key initiatives for 2027–2028, including reforms in access to justice, human resources, digitalization, data and infrastructure, and strategic partnerships.
Vida stressed the need for consistency and readiness in public service.
“The public really looks up to us because of our consistency. We know what needs to be done,” Vida said.
He added: “Let’s always be there. Let’s be present, let’s be ready, and let’s be courageous.”
The DOJ will consolidate and refine the workshop outputs for further validation and management review toward the completion of its Strategic Plan 2027–2033.#
