DOJ seeks P46.44B budget for 2027, up slightly from last year

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking P46.44 billion in funding for 2027, which is slightly higher than its P45.5-billion budget in 2026.

Justice Undersecretary Ian Norman Dato said the proposed increase is mainly intended to cover higher personnel compensation and benefits.

“The slight increase in the budget is attributed mainly to an increase in the compensation and benefits of personnel,” Dato said during a press conference.

The DOJ presented its proposed budget during the House Committee on Appropriations hearing on Aug. 24.

Dato said he was not yet able to provide details on other allocations under the proposed National Expenditure Program but would look into them and provide the information at the next press conference.#
