DOJ back to skeleton workforce for two weeks
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Tuesday bared that Justice Department employees are back to work-from-home scheme with rotating skeleton staff to man the frontline and other key offices.
This as the modified enhanced community quarantine was reimposed in Metro Manila and in nearby provinces last Sunday night.
Also, Guevarra continued that prosecution service in the affected areas will continue via teleconferencing and other electronic means, with filing of complaints, affidavits, and other papers may be done online.
President Duterte on late Sunday night placed Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan on MECQ following the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
The MECQ will last from August 4 to 18. Under MECQ trains, buses, jeepneys, taxis, ride-hailing services, tricycles are not allowed to operate. Manufacturing plants and other establishments are allowed to operate only with half their capacity.
Duterte revived the MECQ after healthcare workers’ groups called for a timeout to give exhausted frontline medical personnel a respite.#
