DivinaLaw to continue providing scholarships to UST Graduate School of Law students

DivinaLaw has renewed its partnership with the University of Santo Tomas to provide scholarship grants to deserving students of the Graduate School of Law.

DivinaLaw founder Nilo Divina, who is also the UST Faculty of Civil Law Dean, led the firm in signing the memorandum of agreement renewing the partnership with UST for the grants, which would be coursed through the UST Research and Endowment Foundation, Inc. (UST REFI).

The program will help recipients pursue their Master of Laws and Doctor of Civil Law degrees, UST said in a statement.

Rector Very Rev. Fr. Richard G. Ang said their MOA represents a “continuing partnership of purpose.”

“It is an affirmation that when academic institutions and committed partners come together, opportunities are created that extend well beyond the recipients of these scholarships,” the rector said.

Divina said the firm’s contribution is “an investment in legal education, an investment in excellence in legal education, and, hopefully, in doing so, with more instillation of justice.”

Also joining the MOA signing were UST REFI Executive Director and Secretary-General Rev. Fr. Louie Coronel, O.P., EHL; UST Graduate School of Law Dean Jacqueline Lopez-Kaw, DCL; and DivinaLaw, Inc. Senior Partner Edwin Uy.
