Dino de Leon urges Ombudsman to resolve plunder complaint vs VP Sara

Lawyer Dino de Leon pressed the Office of the Ombudsman to resolve the plunder complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte that he and several others filed in December last year in relation to her alleged confidential fund misuse.

In a Facebook post, De Leon said a case should be filed against Duterte before the Sandiganbayan for this non-bailable offense.

He contended that the Vice President is not immune from suit.

“She is not the head of state. It also serves no practical purpose as she is not as busy compared to the President. Accountability should be the rule, and any exception should benefit the people,” he said.

The complaint against Duterte alleged that she misused P612.5 million in confidential funds.
