Del Castillo feted by SC Praise Committee
Retiring Supreme Court Associate Justice Mariano C. Del Castillo on Monday received from the SC PRAISE Committee a Certificate of Appreciation after his last flag ceremony.
Del Castillo will be mandatorily retiring on his 70th birthday this coming July 29.
The certificate was for his “exemplary dedication to duty and work ethic evidenced by, among others, his zero backlog of both Division and en banc cases, disposing of 5,681 cases through decisions and resolutions; his authorship of the Manual for Bar Examinations to help guide future Bar Chairpersons, drawing on his experience as the 2018 Bar Chairperson; and his indefatigable steering since 2010 of the Enhanced Justice on Wheels Program, the Supreme Court’s centerpiece program on increasing access to justice.”
With him are (from right) SC PRAISE Committee Vice Chair Atty. Edgar O. Aricheta, SC PRAISE Committee Chair Atty. Maria Carina M. Cunanan, SC PRAISE Committee Member Atty. Corazon G. Ferrer-Flores, and SC PRAISE Secretariat Member Atty. Simeon V. Brigola, Jr. Justice Del Castillo will be retiring on July 29, 2019, his 70th birthday.
