CJ lectures on Criminal Law for the Continuing Legal Education Program
Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta on Wednesday delivered a lecture on updates in Criminal Law during the Continuing Legal Education Program (CLEP) for the second batch of Court Attorneys of the Court of Appeals (CA) at the Bayview Park Hotel in Manila.
Peralta discussed updates on various laws affecting criminal liability and penalties. These laws include the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, the Indeterminate Sentence Law, the Probation Law, the Law on Subsidiary Penalty (Republic Act No. 10159), the Law on Preventive Imprisonment (R.A. No. 10592), the Good Conduct Time Allowance and Other Time Allowances (R.A. No. 10592, Act No. 2489), and the Law on the Adjustment of Property Values and Damages on which a Penalty is Based.

Organized by the PHILJA, the education arm of the Supreme Court, the two-day CLEP is participated in by 108 lawyers from the CA. The CLEP for the first batch of CA lawyers was held last October 28.#
