Children’s reading habits a source of pride for Sta. Maria
If there’s one thing that Far Eastern University Institute of Law dean Mel Sta. Maria is proud to have shared with his children, it’s their love for books.
Despite the advent of technology and electronic devices, Sta. Maria said her children still buy books to read.
At home, they were required to read books– as in read, read, read books, he said.
“They are now reaping the fruits of that discipline. They still have that habit of looking-up meanings of words in the dictionary while they are reading ( as I have always done even up to the present). Consequently, they write very well ( Dad’s pride 🙂 ) They still buy books to read,” said the abogado.
“Thank God for books. SO to all young parents out there, make your children read books,” he added.
