Candaba, Pampanga residents seek NBI probe into P1.4-B flood control contracts

Residents of Candaba, Pampanga have asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate alleged irregularities in flood control projects and the use of government funds involving companies allegedly linked to Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque.

On Friday, lawyers Faye Singson and Joey Dela Cruz, counsel for 14 residents and former Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo, went to the NBI Organized and Transnational Crimes Division to file the complaint.

The complainants alleged irregularities in the use of government funds for flood control projects involving Sto. Cristo Construction & Trading and Globalcrete Builders Inc., which reportedly secured contracts worth P1.4 billion from 2022 to 2025.#
