Caloocan mayor dangles P1M reward if first batch of UCC law grads pass the Bar
This is history in the making!
Mayor Oca Malapitan personally led a humble but game-changing graduation ceremony for the University of Caloocan City’s College of Law.
This is the first batch of aspiring abogados to graduate from UCC after the new program started four years ago. From an initial set of 34 law students, six secured their Juris Doctor diplomas. They are Sheena Hazel R. Belen, Rofel DC. Bughao, Roberto G. Damian Jr., Krizia E. Pia, Amiel R. Secretario, and Michael F. Villalon.
The small ceremony was held at a hall within the new city hall complex.
“Saludo ako sa inyong anim na mga magsisipagtapos. Sa kabila ng sitwasyon natin ngayon dulot ng pandemya, kayo ay nagpatuloy pa rin at nagsikap na makapagtapos ng abogasya,” the politiko said.
Their next hurdle: the November 2021 Bar exam. To motivate them further, he is offering a generous reward of P1 million if they pass the licensure examination.
“Sa darating ninyong Bar Exam, huwag ninyo sanang biguin ang ating lungsod. Palagi kayong magdasal sa ating Panginoon, magpatuloy sa inyong pagrereview, dala ang Caloocan pride, tiyak at tiwala akong makakapasa kayong lahat,” Malapitan added.
