BuCor probing Herbert Colanggo’s YouTube video
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is conducting an investigation on how a convicted leader of a notorious robbery group managed to smuggle a mobile phone in to a military facility and upload a YouTube video claiming that his life is purportedly in grave danger.
“There is already an ongoing investigation why the PDL (Person Deprived of Liberty) was able to use a gadget while in fact, that is forbidden,” BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said.
” As to his whining…, he should have made a manifestation through his lawyer instead of taking it to YouTube,” he added.
Last March 27, Herbert Colanggo, convicted in 2013 and sentenced to life in prison, uploaded a video on YouTube and claimed his life is in danger.
Colanggo (sometimes spelled as ‘Colangco’) is a witness in the illegal drugs cases filed against detained opposition leader, Senator Leila M. de Lima.
From the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa, Colanggo was transferred to the detention facility at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City together with other witnesses.
In his YouTube post, Colanggo claimed that he and his group would be transferred back to the Maximum Security Compound of NBP.
