The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) has launched the Release Date Tracker (RDT), a web-based system designed to compute and project the expected release dates of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

The RDT was featured as a spotlight presentation during the Justice Sector Coordinating Council (JSCC) Summit held Sept. 21–22, 2026 at The Manila Hotel with the theme “5 Years of Delivering Justice Real-Time.”

The system automates the computation of time credits and allowances to determine when a PDL is expected to be released.

The BJMP said the tool is intended to help ensure timely releases, prevent overstaying or premature release, and support efforts to decongest jails.

The JSCC brings together key justice sector agencies, including the Supreme Court, Department of Justice and Department of the Interior and Local Government, to strengthen and modernize the Philippine justice system.

The BJMP also announced plans for the nationwide rollout of the RDT, including Version 6.0, which will feature an improved interface and enhanced security and privacy measures.

The agency is also developing a Release Date Calculator (RDC) for public use and an RDT Kiosk to provide easier and more transparent access to release-date information.

The initiative received support from the JSCC technical working groups on Evidence Management System, ICT and Infrastructure, and Process and Capacity Building, as well as the EU-GoJust Programme and BJMP officials.#
