BI nabs American wanted for sexual abuse in home country

The Bureau of Immigration recently arrested an American national wanted in his home country for a sex offense.

John Raymond Fenty, 62, was apprehended last Thursday in Barangay Buaya in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu by the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit.

Fenty was nabbed upon the request of the United States government, which informed Philippine authorities of his presence here.

He is wanted and will face trial before a justice court in Kemper County, Mississippi for the charge of sexual battery against a mentally defective, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless person.

Fenty arrived in the Philippines as a tourist on July 21, 2026, and subsequently applied for an extension of his authorized stay until November 18, 2026.

BI commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said Fenty will be deported once the BI’s Board of Commissioner issues the appropriate deportation order.

He will also be included in the BI’s blacklist and will be barred from re-entering the Philippines on grounds of undesirability.

Fenty is being held at the National Bureau of Investigation office in Mandaue City pending his transfer to the BI Warden’s Facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.
