BI: Ex-solon Lord Allan Velasco currently not in PH

Former Speaker and Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco is currently out of the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration said on Tuesday.

In a statement, the BI said there is no existing hold departure order (HDO) for Velasco or derogatory alert in its records that would have prevented the ex-lawmaker from leaving the country.

However, the BI said it “cannot disclose further details concerning an individual’s immigration records due to data privacy concerns.”

It added that it “remains committed to the consistent enforcement of immigration laws and policies while ensuring the proper protection and confidentiality of personal information.”

Last week, ex-cop Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. claimed to have delivered cash to Vice President Sara Duterte, then President Rodrigo Duterte, and Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte.

Gracioso claimed he was acting on Velasco’s orders as he was then a security officer of the lawmaker, then Speaker.

The ex-lawmaker’s camp said the allegations are “fabricated attacks” with “no basis,” while the National Bureau of Investigation is investigating Gracioso’s claims.
