Bersamin names new SC PIO chief
Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin on Monday named Atty. Brian Keith F. Hosaka as the new head of the Supreme Court Public Information Office with the rank of Assistant Court Administrator replacing Jose Midas Marquez.
Bersamin made the announcement after the flag ceremony at the SC grounds in Padre Faura, Ermita Manila.
“I just would like to announce that I have designated a new head of the PIO, and he is Atty. Brian Hosaka. He will start today. Brian Hosaka is not a newcomer. He served in the Court before under (Ret.) Justice Josue Bellosillo. So let us all support him,” Chief Justice said.
Bersamin however said that Marquez will temporarily continue to be the court spokesperson for a smoother transition.
Marquez, who was initially designated by Bersamin as acting chief of the SC PIO, and
Hosaka worked together before as law clerks in the Office of Justice Josue Bellosillo.
Prior to his designation, Hosaka was a founding partner of the Paner Hosaka & Ypil Attorneys-at-Law. He also served as Deputy General Counsel of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He obtained his AB Interdisciplinary Studies (Merit Scholar) and Juris Doctor degrees from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1993 and 1998, respectively.
