Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is gloating as House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano faces criticism over poor preparations for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Duterte hinted in an Instagram post Sunday (November 24) that the SEA Games was a disaster waiting to happen as she reminded lawmakers about a warning she made in the past.

The presidential daughter posted a black and white selfie of herself flashing the tiniest hint of a smile.

Duterte’s caption read: “‘I told you so’ is a sure-fire way to kick-start an argument. In the same way, ‘you do not listen’ will ignite a conversation into a heated one. May I just say to everyone in Congress, “I told you but you did not listen so there you go.”

Cayetano became a trending topic on Twitter Sunday after anecdotes surfaced about the shabby treatment that Filipino and Asian athletes received ahead of the formal opening of the SEA Games on November 30.

The Cambodian and Filipino football teams reportedly had to wait for hours to be checked in to their rooms, while the Thai football team complained of having limited food and water rations.

The football teams of Myanmar and Timor Leste, meanwhile, had to wait for hours for a shuttle to pick them up upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
