Bar Updates: CJ announces three venues for 2020 exams
Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta has announced that there will be 3 venues for the 2020 Bar. The abogado shared this during the online Senate budget hearing today, following the previously approved additional testing center in Cebu.
Bar 2020 Chairman Marvic Leonen affirmed that they are looking at proctored bar exams or a mix of online and written exams in more than two locations. The abogado noted that geographic equity has been an important principle of the new set of Bar reforms, anyway.
The Bar Chairman also said that while he has given general briefings to the Court en banc, a firm proposal is yet to be submitted. He confirmed that the examination will surely not be conducted in the traditional manner as they are considering safety, access, and security of bar takers.
Leonen noted that he is working closely with the Philippine Association of Law Schools for this matter alongside his frequent coordination with members of the Court and the Bar chairs that will succeed him in the coming years. The abogado also said that whatever the final recommendation will be as approved by the SC en banc, informing the students will be their top priority.
For the meantime, he encouraged them to do quality studying so they can also get quality results in the future.
Aral na lang muna. Wait and see pa!
