Bar reviewer urges examiners to be ‘kind and merciful’ as he notes ‘inexactitudes’ in questions

Labor arbiter and Bar reviewer Atty. Benedict Kato appealed to the Bar examiners to be “kind and merciful” in case of doubt when they are checking the answers for this year’s test.

Kato made the appeal in a Facebook post as he shared what he considers to be “inexactitudes” and “defects” in the questions posed during the exams.

“It is not fair to be very exacting. At least, they did their best to answer your kind of questions. Be generous and God will justify you,” Kato said in his post.

He also said he was sharing his views for the sake of the “mentally-ravaged examinees.”

He advised them not to count their mistakes, saying imperfect answers could still earn points.

He also said he himself could not have given “perfect answers to imperfect questions.”

Fellow lawyer Red-Gelo Agbayani agreed with Kato’s observations about the questions, saying one of the Labor Law questions was inconsistent with the facts presented.
