Bar ABS-CBN’s Tony Labrusca from leaving PH, accuser asks Makati City Prosecutor’s Office

The woman who accused ABS-CBN contract artist Tony Labrusca of molesting her at a January 16 party has asked the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office to issue a precautionary hold departure order (PHDO), citing the Filipino-American’s failure to attend the preliminary investigation and his social media posts that boast of how easy it was for him to fly to the United States.

“It is undeniable that Respondent Tony Labrusca has a high probability to evade arrest, to be a flight risk, and that he has enough resources to depart the country at his whim,” read the motion filed by the complainant’s lawyer Reginald Tongol.

A PHDO is an order issued by a court commanding the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to stop a foreigner from leaving the country while facing preliminary investigation, even though there is no finding of probable cause yet for an indictment.

The complainant alleged that during the party, an apparently drunk Labrusca flicked her spaghetti straps to expose her breast and pulled her from the waist to make her sit on his lap.

Her motion noted that Labrusca never attended the preliminary investigation up to August 4, 2021, when the complaint was submitted for resolution.

Yet, Labrusca on August 7, 2021 posted about his attendance at a party. On August 10, 2021, he posted on Instagram Stories that “I should be packing” for a trip to the United States.

“Respondent Labrusca refusal to attend the August 04, 2021 Preliminary Investigation clearly shows his indication that he does not respect the processes of the Honorable Office, much more of the country,” read the motion.

Amid the controversy, Labrusca’s episode in the anthology series “Click, Like, Share” was aired by ABS-CBN last September through television networks Kapamilya Channel and A2Z and streaming site iWant TFC.
