Ateneo takes 5 of 21 slots in 2018 PALS-Tan Yan Kee Foundation law scholars

The Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity and the Tan Yan Kee Foundation Inc. (TYKF), and the Philippine Association of Law Schools (PALS) have announced this year’s 21 scholars

The law scholars will get a grant of P200,000 each – P80,000 for monthly stipends, P20,000 for books and P100,000 for tuition fees.

Associate Chief Justice Antonio Carpio lead the board of judges which picked this year’s scholars. The other board members are former education secretary Edilberto C. de Jesus, PALS president Sedfrey M. Candelaria, TYKF executive Elizabeth T. Alba, and Asian Development Bank consultant Joel Emerson J. Gregorio.

4) Mikael Gabrielle Ilao (University of of Cordilleras)

5) Kenneth Glenn Manuel (UST)

6) King Anthony Perez (University of Cebu)

7) Josiah David Quising (FEU)

8) Jun Dexter Rojas (Polytechnic University)

9) Julienne Therese Salvacion (San Beda Manila)

10) Ma. Vida Malaya Villarico (Polytechnic University)

11) Karina Mae Badua (UST)

12) Sean James Borja (Ateneo de Manila)

13) Kaycelle Anne Castillo (FEU)

14) Ervin Fredrick Dy (UP)

15) Rexlyn Anne Evora (Polytechnic U)niversity)

16) Katrina Monica Gaw (Ateneo de Manila)

17) Summerson Macasarte (St. Thomas More)

18) Nigel Carmelo Reago (De La Salle University)

19) Jose Angelo Tiglao (De La Salle University)

20) Althea Vergara (University of San Carlos)

21) Vanessa Gloria Vergara (Ateneo de Manila).

They will be awarded at the Ateneo de Manila in Rockwell, Makati, on March 23.
