ASEAN Summit preps: Marcos inspects renovated PICC in Pasay City

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday visited the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City in preparation for the country’s hosting of the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit and Related Summits later this year.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro said the President inspected the facilities to ensure that everything is ready for the regional bloc’s meeting.

“Abala si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ngayong araw sa pagdalo sa mahalagang kaganapan na magsisilbing gabay sa mga paghahanda ng pamahalaan sa ASEAN Summit,” she said in a press briefing.

“Kaninang umaga, pinangunahan ng Pangulo ang inspeksyon ng PICC bilang paghahanda para sa 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits,” she added.

The PICC reopened in September 2025 after undergoing an extensive renovation. It will be the main venue of the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in November.

Last month, the President also reopened the historic Coconut Palace, also one of the venues of the regional summit.
