Army reservist gets 40 years for killing cyclist in road rage incident

The Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) has sentenced a former Army reservist to a maximum of 40 years in prison for shooting a cyclist in a road rage incident in Quiapo in July 2016.

In a recent decision, the court also ordered Vhon Martin Tanto to pay a total of P1.35 million in damages and indemnity to the family of victim Mark Vincent Garalde.

Tanto was caught on camera shooting Garalde at close range four times.
